Jackson Kroopf is an award-winning filmmaker, podcast producer and educator. Through creative approaches to collaboration, he mixes interview, improv, archive and writing to make work that lies somewhere between fiction and non-fiction.
Jackson's films have screened at BFI London, Clermont-Ferrand, Outfest, SFFILM and over 100 other festivals worldwide, in addition to being a Vimeo Staff Pick, Short of the Week, and broadcast on PBS. Their short NASIR won the Shorts Competition Grand Jury Prize at Doc NYC with distribution from The Los Angeles Times.
His films have received support from The Sundance Institute, The National Endowment for the Humanities, The Mellon Foundation, Frameline, Getty, SCI-Arc, UCLA Film and Television Archives, and the W.K. Rose Fellowship.
